Frequently Asked Questions
-
As a Direct Primary Care clinic, we do not accept any insurance plans. We believe that medical care should involve you and your doctor alone. No prior authorizations, no denial of services, just you and your doctor discussing and making decisions. You may ask your insurance provider if Dove Pediatrics qualifies for HSA or FSA use. You may also request reimbursement directly from your health insurance provider or cost-sharing program.
-
We still recommend you have insurance in case of emergency or hospitalization. We will make every effort to work together in healthy living and illness prevention, however unexpected emergencies and illnesses can still happen, and you want to be prepared. We also may need to place referrals or prescribe medications from time to time (that we do not carry), and you may want insurance to cover the cost of the subspecialty consultation or medications if needed.

Membership allows us to provide the most comprehensive, personalized care to our patients and unmatched access to their pediatrician. It allows us to take the unknowns and extra costs tacked on by insurance companies out of your medical care. The fixed rate also allows our families to budget for exactly what their health care will cost without any surprise copays, coinsurance, deductibles, or fees.

All routine well child visits including routine lab testing, unlimited sick/acute care visits, access to your pediatrician via text, phone, or virtual visits, basic point of care lab testing, in-office medications at wholesale pricing, extended appointment times to address all of your concerns, on time appointments without a wait, school, sports, or camp physicals, coordination of medical care with specialists, and some in-office procedures.

Insurance is important for emergencies or catastrophic illness, but it can stand in the way of compassionate, comprehensive primary care. Insurance companies have taken over the healthcare industry and have placed constraints on physicians that leave both providers and patients feeling dissatisfied. We formed Dove Pediatrics with the goal of providing the type of pediatric care we would want for our own families: a natural, holistic-focused, and Christ-centered model. Insurance stands in the way of those things. Make an appointment without having to wait on hold. Speak directly with your doctor without having to go through 2 front desk staff and a nurse plus waiting for a call back. Expect to be taken back right away without a wait in the waiting area. No annoying copays or coinsurance for every visit and medication. Pray with your pediatrician over your child and family. If you've ever left the pediatrician's office wishing you could have any of those things, then our membership is just the type of care you've been looking for. It's like having a pediatrician in the family.

We do not have admitting privileges at the local hospitals, however we maintain good relationships with the local children's hospitals, and we will do everything we can to communicate with the hospitalist staff wherever you are admitted to ensure all remaining care is addressed after discharge.

Occassionally during specified marketed events, we may provide care to non-members. If you have an extended family member visiting who needs urgent care, we will make every effort to care for them if availability allows, for a one-time fee.

Call or text us! That's one of the many benefits of our practice. If we can take care of it virtually, we will. If we can call in a prescription where you are, we will. We may need you to go to urgent care, ER, or a local provider, but we will triage and take care of whatever we can for you!
-
Yes! We love to offer virtual visits whenever possible to allow you to continue your schedule with minimal interruptions, unless we feel an in-person visit is needed. Unlimited virtual visits are included in your monthly membership fee. We also offer in-home visits for newborn well child checks up to 6 month free of charge, and optional in-home visits for older children for an additional fee.
